HomeHealth & WellnessSwimming Lessons

Be water safe.

Swimming Lessons, delivered by the YMCA, will help your child develop healthy habits and safe water practices they will carry for life.

Swimming strokes such as freestyle and backstroke are an important part of swimming. However it is vital that children learn personal survival skills that are able to improve safety, not only at the pool but also in other waterways such as rivers, lakes and the ocean.

Get set and be safe this season with accredited swimming lessons from our qualified AUSTSWIM instructors.

Swim Lesson Fees

Our Swim Lesson program runs over 48 weeks of the year and all payments are made via fortnightly direct debit from your nominated bank account or credit card.

Participants enrolled in our Swim Lesson program are also entitled to access swimming (outside of class times) at the Peter Krenz Leisure Centre throughout the school year at no additional cost.

Intellectual Development

Special Needs Programs:

We can develop swimming lessons to cater for participants with special needs.
Programs are custom designed to suit swimmers with special needs of all ages.

The programs focus on improvement of health and well-being and enhance self confidence.

School Programs

Swim lesson programs can be tailored to suit the needs of school groups. The programs incorporate the YMCA’s goals of physical, personal and intellectual development alongside the goals of the school group.

The intellectual development of our participants moves beyond the physical and personal development aspects of the Swim Lesson Program. It aims to develop the mind through activities and learning techniques that promote:

  • Problem Solving
  • Decision Making
